Manager of School Safety (PennSSI)

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a facilitator and operator for PennSSI scenario sessions for school leaders, law enforcement, VIP attendees, and others visiting the institute.
  • Serve as a classroom instructor for assigned courses.
  • Conduct planning meetings with each scheduled group to understand the roles of the participants, their goals for their sessions and additional considerations to plan for their session and the curation of the scenarios list for the scheduled session.
  • Develop new scenarios and content for PennSSi and GPS Learning Lab to include but not limited to script writing, securing actors, production assistance and piloting content.
  • Maintain operational knowledge of all systems within the GPS Learning Lab, ensuring functionality, maintenance, and continuous improvements to enhance training experiences.
  • Support administrative functions of PennSSi and GPS Learning Lab to include marketing coordinator, maintaining and refining administrative forms and processes, and other identified administrative functions to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Maintain the training equipment, materials, and facilities; maintain records of usage with high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ensure the safety institute follows all state, local and industry specific regulations. Support periodic safety audits of the institute, its equipment, and security procedures.
  • Support the enhancements of the institute as directed by the director of school safety.
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of school safety and security trends, requirements, and best practices in Pennsylvania and Nationally incorporating this knowledge into content creation.
  • Support the planning, coordination and implementation of school safety programs to include but not limited to Safety Summits and webinars.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with significant experience required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of analytical and decision-making skills required.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and the ability to work in an unsupervised capacity are highly important.
  • Must be detail oriented, able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, and successful at interacting in both individual and group settings.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of large groups.
