Risk Management Services

If a school entity has a need, chances are that PSBA has a service, expert or program to meet that need.

A division of School Claims Services, LLC, Risk Management provides several different services to PSBA members and participants in Trust Programs. All of our Risk Management team members are cross-trained in both Workers' Compensation, and Liability and Property. Each Risk Management Consultant is assigned specific school entities within each discipline to enhance our pro-active consultative approach. With 65 years of combined experience in safety and risk management, all department members are qualified providers be the Department of Labor & Industry.

Workers' Compensation Safety and Risk Management Services
Working with the PSBA Insurance Trust, Underwriting and Workers' Compensation claims program, we provide:

  • Access to online safety manual
  • Safety video lending library
  • Customized loss and trend analyses
  • Comprehensive scorecard
  • Seminars and workshops
  • Required annual free safety committee training, via webinars
  • On-site consultative, pro-active approach to addressing risks

Liability and Property Safety and Risk Management Services
Working with the PSBA Insurance Trust, ACE and Casualty Claims program, we provide:

  • Automatic Sprinkler System drawing/specifications review
  • School Bus and Incidental Fleet Operation evaluation and training
  • Chemistry Lab Safety and Chemical Storage evaluation
  • Playground Safety and Inspections
  • Comprehensive Scorecard
  • On-site consultative, pro-active approach to addressing risks

Crisis Intervention for Schools
Free service available to Liability and Property and/or Workers' Compensation participants

Following a crisis involving shootings, suicide, natural disasters, transportation catastrophes or riots, current Liability and Property and/or Workers' Compensation participants may request assistance from PSBA Insurance Trust for free crisis counseling services from Quest Behavioral Health.

  • This service may be purchased by school districts who do not participate in the Liability and Property and/or Workers' Compensation program.
  • Tragedies resulting from other circumstances will be evaluated by PSBA staff on a case-by-case basis.
  • Requests can be made by calling Quest Behavioral Health directly at (800) 364-6352, or by calling Sharon Orr, director of Risk Management Services, at (866) 401-6600, ext. 152.
