Sabrina Backer

Sabrina Backer has been active in public education since her children started elementary school. She first began volunteering on the executive board of their school’s parent/teacher organization and was elected to the board at Franklin Area School District in 2014. She then served as PSBA’s Section 1 advisor and on the Governing Board in 2018. She has served as a PSBA liaison and on the Hall of Fame, Personnel, Operations, Finance and Negotiations committees, chairing both the Personnel and Operations committees. Backer also has served on PSBA’s Bylaws and Platform committees, the Pennsylvania Public Education Foundation Board, been a member of the Legislative Advisory Council and chair of the Policy Committee. Backer attended Fayetteville State University. Professionally, she is the county administrator/chief clerk and director of elections for the County of Venango. She resides in Franklin with her husband, Brian, and their two children – Britton, a senior at Penn State University, and Cambree, a freshman at Millersville University.
