Marsha Pleta has served as School Director in the Washington School District in Washington County for 16 years holding the positions of treasurer, vice president and currently, president. She was the previous Sectional 5 advisor for PSBA and is currently serving as a PSBA liaison, and on the Legislative Advisory Committee as a voice for public education in her community, state and on the federal level. She has served on the PSBA Leadership Development Committee, Delegate Assembly Committee, at PSBA Advocacy Day, Board Presidents Panel and most recently was a panelist at the Virtual School Leadership Conference discussing issues and concerns that affect urban school districts. As a small business owner, Pleta started The Grand Victorian in a 16–room Victorian house containing a full-service floral and elegant gift shop, employing over 16 people. She served as Teleflora president for western Pennsylvania, vice president of Zonta International, and vice president of Professional Business Women. When faced with a major health issue, she sold her business of 15 years to focus on raising her three young sons and becoming involved in their school life. Her oldest son received his Ph.D. in automotive engineering, the second son obtained a specialized master’s degree in finance and her youngest son is currently a student at the University of Pittsburgh.
