David Schaap

David Schaap has been a school board director for the Brentwood Borough School District (Allegheny Co.) for 16 years. He also has served on the board of the Steel Center Career and Technical School, where he is currently board president, and on the board of the Mon Valley Area Special School District for 14 years, serving as president for most of his tenure there. For the past six years, Schaap has been an elected member of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, serving as treasurer and vice president, and is in his third term as president. Schaap has served in various PSBA roles, including on the Effective Governance Committee that rewrote the current Principles for Governance and Leadership, the PSBA Policy Committee, and as assistant regional director and PSBA liaison. He is president and founder of Selah Publishing Co., an internationally known publisher of church music, founded in 1988, and organist/choirmaster at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Schaap and his wife, Virginia, have three children who graduated from Brentwood Borough High School.
