PSBA offers on-site customized workshop options. Our staff travels to you for training that can be customized in several ways. How much time can you devote to professional development? We offer evening, half day and full-day options.
PSBA also offers workshops on relevant topics for school boards and superintendents, including:
- Roles and Responsibilities: A highly customizable workshop that helps school directors and superintendents understand how to operate as an efficient and collaborative team by understanding the difference between school board governance and administrative management. Roles for both the school board and district administration are framed through the PSBA Principles for Governance and Leadership. Additional content around school board ethics and governance process also can be incorporated upon request.
- Setting Board Goals: This workshop helps school boards and superintendents work collaboratively to identify actionable, outcome-oriented school board goals that align and support the district’s goals as well as district vision, mission and core values. The workshop finds the balance between helpful content and open discussion so that every school director finds his/her voice in defining collective goals and outcomes.
- Board Self-Assessment Report and Action Planning: Using the Board Self-Assessment results, this workshop helps school boards identify their needed areas of growth and have a facilitated discussion about how to create an action plan to address those needs.
Additional workshops are available upon request. For pricing information and to schedule a workshop, contact Brianna Crowley, education and training manager, 717-506-2450, x-3271.
