Identifying the issues, influencing legislation and shaping the debate on key education issues
From the association’s earliest days, we have helped make sure members’ voices are heard before the state legislature. Every year, PSBA plays a critical role in helping legislation pass that will positively affect public education, as well as fighting those bills that could have negative consequences.
PSBA updates members on the happenings of state government and explain the complexities often involved with legislation. We routinely monitor dozens of pieces of legislation that affect school districts. Staff also attends countless meeting of legislative committees and the State Board of Education. Important information is gleaned and reported back to the membership in various forms including the weekly Legislative Report and School Leader News.
