School officials and others are invited to attend an informational town hall meeting on pension reform that will be held on Thursday, March 26 in Harrisburg. Presenting the school board perspective on behalf of the Pa. School Boards Association will be Ephrata Area School Director Tim Stayer.
The public event will include a presentation from the Independent Fiscal Office, which will provide an overview of the current pension systems and the impact the unfunded liability has on the state’s fiscal stability. Following the IFO presentation, Stayer and representatives from the Commonwealth Foundation and the Keystone Research Center will discuss their various viewpoints regarding the need for tax reform and its impact on taxpayers. The panel will then respond to questions from the audience.
The town hall, to be held 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Widener Law School, Room A180, 3737 Vartan Way, Hbg., also will be broadcast by the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN). The event is being jointly hosted by the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association Foundation.
