Your source for Act 55 compliant training
PSBA is an approved provider of training that meets Act 55 requirements, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). By clicking here, you can access complimentary Act 55 compliant training from PSBA with proof of attendance. This requirement immediately affects school directors appointed as of July 2, 2018, during their first year in office. To learn when you or your board will be required to complete training hours, please refer to PDE’s FAQs here.
To support newly elected and appointed school directors in meeting their required four hours of training under Act 55 of 2017*, PSBA is an approved provider to offer the following courses. All members can access these courses and complete them as part of a certificate of board governance, even if they are not required to take them for Act 55 compliance. *Act 55 requires all newly elected or appointed school directors to complete four hours of training within the first year with content on instruction and academic programs, personnel, fiscal management, operations, governance, and ethics/open meetings. In addition, all re-elected and re-appointed school directors must complete a two-hour advanced training program on relevant changes in state and federal law and regulations, fiscal management and other information.
