Grants support transformative education projects
The U.S. Department of Education is accepting applications through August 1 for the Education Innovation and Research: Early-phase grant program, which looks to support innovative solutions to persistent problems in K-12 education that may not have exhaustive research yet demonstrate a rationale for their potential effectiveness. Areas of interest for this year's competition are as follows: general field-initiated innovations; STEM innovations; helping meet students’ social, emotional, and academic needs; as well as innovations surrounding educator recruitment and retention.
The Department's Fostering Diverse Schools competitive grant program supports schools in developing or implementing plans to improve school conditions for student learning by supporting voluntary efforts to increase school socioeconomic diversity in pre-K through grade 12. Full applications are due July 7, 2023.
