According to the Principles for Governance and Leadership, advocacy is a hallmark of highly effective school boards. The PSBA Advocacy Ambassador program was started in 2017 to facilitate school directors’ advocacy efforts with their legislators. Since its start, the program’s impact has grown. In addition to regular communication with legislators and PSBA members in their sections, ambassadors help to educate members on the importance of advocacy, help coordinate lawmakers’ visits to school buildings and encourage districts to share positive news utilizing the association’s public awareness campaign, which celebrates the successes of Pennsylvania’s public school districts.

PSBA Advocacy Ambassadors are located in each of the identified zones across the state:

Lee Myford – Western Zone

Patty Craig – Central Zone

Katie Gilmartin – Eastern Zone

Reach out to Jamie Zuvich, PSBA advocacy manager, or visit the website for information on how to contact your ambassador.
