Over the last several years, the issue of student First Amendment rights – and how school districts can ensure they're not violating those rights while they maintain a safe school environment – continues to come into the forefront, especially with recent cases like Mahanoy Area School District v. B.L. The key, experts say, is finding a way to balance student expression while limiting any disruption to the school environment.
