Keynote speakers announced for school design and construction planning conference
PSBA and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Pennsylvania will host A Focused Foundation: School Design + Construction Planning on March 31 – April 1. This two-day joint conference brings together school leaders and architects to discuss project management, energy efficient and healthy design, finances and funding, school safety and security and best practices for K-12 construction.
Keynote speakers Alana Konefal, associate, and Marissa Dionne Mead, director of art integration, from Svigal + Partners — the firm that worked to incorporate art and holistic design balanced with school security in creating a new Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, CT — will present Holistic Design for Healthy Communities: Supporting Schools and Communities through Design and Creative Engagement. This presentation will highlight the importance of strategic design principles as well as inclusive community engagement as the foundation for creating outstanding learning environments.
