Earlier this week, the Safe2Say Something program celebrated its one-year anniversary. Since its launch, this anonymous tip line developed by the PA Office of the Attorney General has received more than 40,000 tips. These tips have come from every school district in each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties. Unexpectedly, many of these tips were submitted out of concern for students who seemed depressed or were victims of bullying rather than threats of school or classroom violence. With these findings, Attorney General Josh Shapiro has called on the Pennsylvania legislature to place a mental health professional in each school across the commonwealth.
