The Day After Election Day
Results of yesterday’s election reveal the newly and reelected public officials who will sit on the school boards governing Pennsylvania’s public schools. For some, this is a new role with the inherent learning curve of any new position. For others, they’ll continue on in a familiar set of responsibilities but with the new challenges of a new term and an ever-changing educational landscape. As the statewide association established to support member school boards, PSBA will be sending out packages of important resources and tools. These packets will include Year of Learning, which outlines the next year of PSBA’s learning opportunities; Essentials of School Board Service, a guide outlining essential information for first-year members; Roadmap to Success to ensure newly elected officials are set up to succeed; and The Essentials of Parliamentary Procedure for returning directors. These materials will be accompanied by a PSBA membership benefits summary to be sure school directors are aware of all that’s available to members in terms of support, resources, training and services.
