Schools are now invited to apply for grants under the state’s new School Safety and Security Grant Program established under Act 44 of 2018, with a deadline of Friday, Oct. 12 to submit applications. The application period was announced by the School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC) established within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The grant program includes the availability of $52.5 million in state School Safety and Security funds for schools to use to support eligible activities as listed under Act 44.
The funding announcement has two parts:
•    Part A: Meritorious Application is only for school districts making an application to receive a minimum grant allocation of $25,000; and
•    Part B: Competitive Application is for all eligible school entities, including school districts seeking additional funding beyond their Part A: Meritorious Application.
