PSBA is an approved provider of training that meets Act 55 requirements, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). By clicking here, members can access complimentary Act 55 compliant training from PSBA with proof of attendance. This requirement immediately affects school directors appointed as of July 2, 2018 during their first year in office. Act 55 requires all newly elected or appointed school directors to complete four hours of training within the first year with content on instruction and academic programs, personnel, fiscal management, operations, governance, and ethics/open meetings. In addition, all re-elected and re-appointed school directors must complete a two-hour advanced training program on relevant changes in state and federal law and regulations, fiscal management and other information.
