Mark B. Miller has tendered his resignation as 2017 PSBA president effective Feb. 15, 2017, and the PSBA Governing Board has accepted it. Michael Faccinetto, school board president of Bethlehem Area School District and PSBA president-elect, will serve the remainder of 2017 as acting president.
“As leaders in public education, we feel it is extremely important for us to set a good example for our students, teachers, administrators and taxpayers,” the members of the Governing Board said in a joint statement. “Our association strives for the highest quality public education for students in Pennsylvania, and we must not let anything distract us from that mission.”
PSBA is a nonprofit statewide association of public school boards, pledged to the highest ideals of local lay leadership for the public schools of the commonwealth. Founded in 1895, PSBA was the first school boards association established in the United States.
