PSBA Governing Board seeks nominations for position of At-Large Representative (Central)

PSBA has a vacancy on the Governing Board for the position of Central Section At-Large Representative and we are looking for candidates interested in serving the association. According to PSBA Bylaws (Article III, Section 4), the Governing Board shall fill the vacancy.

The Governing Board is currently seeking nominations for this position from individuals in the Central Section, including Regions 4, 5, 6, 9 and 12, (see map). The selected person will fill the position for 2017, and the seat will be open for election for the remaining two years (2018-19) of the three-year term, according to PSBA Bylaws (Article III, Section 4, Part B, 2). Nominations are due by 9 a.m. on January 16. Each nominee is required to submit the following materials by January 19: statement of interest (not to exceed 400 words); two letters of nomination/recommendation from school directors in the Central Section(may not be from their own district); and a curriculum vitae outlining professional and volunteer experience not to exceed two pages (optional).

The statement of interest must answer the following questions:

  • What are your qualifications to serve as a member of the PSBA Governing Board?
  • Why do you want to serve?

A subcommittee of the Governing Board, including president, immediate past president, president-elect and credentials committee chair, will review submissions on January 20 and conduct nominee interviews. The subcommittee will present recommendations to the full board on January 23. The Governing Board will make a final vote on January 25.

Nominations must be emailed by January 16 and materials by January 19 to PSBA executive director at nathang.mains@psba.org.
