On average, daily substitute teachers in Pennsylvania were paid $92 per day for 2015-16. The PSBA research staff compiled this figure based on 429 public school districts with per-diem pay rates out of the 479 responding districts. The most frequent pay rate (mode) is $90 per day, and the median pay rate is $90 per day. The minimum reported rate is $70 per day, and the maximum is $160.
