Pleasant Valley SD in Monroe County has delayed purchasing much needed technology, deferred textbook purchases and curtailed professional development in an effort to operate during the budget impasse. It is also delaying other payments such as health insurance contributions to its self-insured fund and travel payments and considering deferring charter school payments if the impasse continues. The district will only be able to make payroll until at the end of June without state funding; however, in order to make ends meet, it is depleting its fund balance. It will not be able to make debt service payments or payroll over the summer without a tax revenue anticipation note.
