PASA Special Luncheons

PASA Women’s Caucus Luncheon
Wednesday, Oct. 15(special-fee event)
This luncheon of the PASA Women’s Caucus is open to all attendees and will feature a speaker focused on leadership.

Women as Leaders and Agents of Change
The Honorable Kate Ford Elliott began her term as president judge of the Superior Court in 2006. She was the first woman to hold this position for any appellate court in Pennsylvania. Judge Ford Elliott has served as a member of the Superior Court since 1990. Prior to her career in law, Judge Ford Elliott was a school teacher for the Pittsburgh Board of Education, working with reading-disabled children. She will offer her unique perspectives about women in leadership, the challenges, the rewards and women’s ability to succeed in many different roles.

PASA Recognition Luncheon and Business Meeting
Thursday, Oct. 16(special-fee event)
Special recognition will be given during the luncheon program to 2007-08 PASA President Dr. Kathleen Kelley for her leadership.

Dinner Buffet, Entertainment & Dancing

Wednesday, Oct. 15
A full dinner buffet will be available to all school officials, and the Fabulous Greaseband will perform the best of the ’50s through ’90s rock ‘n’ roll and dance tunes. The band’s highly energetic and entertaining delivery of the greatest dance songs ever written will keep your toes tapping!
     

PSBA Legislative Policy Council

Thursday, Oct. 16
Be sure to have your district represented at this important meeting where proposals submitted and reviewed to the platform committee will be reviewed and voted on by delegates. Voting delegates must have proper credentials in order to participate.
   

PSBA Business Meeting/President’s Reception

Thursday, Oct. 16
All school directors and school board secretaries are invited to a special reception to honor 2008 PSBA President Pamela Markle. The PSBA business meeting immediately follows the reception, and the agenda includes the announcement of the 2009 PSBA officer election results and bylaw recommendations. This meeting will conclude with a special prize drawing.
   

Forums Group

Is your district rural, urban, suburban or growing? Meet with your colleagues from similar districts facing similar challenges at forums discussion groups at various times throughout the conference.
   

Closing Session
Breakfast Buffet

Friday, Oct. 17
Come together with your colleagues one last time and enjoy a full breakfast buffet, complete with great conversation, a musical presentation from Williamsport Area SD and remarks from Sam “The Chalk Man” Glenn. The breakfast is included with the conference registration fee but must be reserved on the registration form.
