On-Site and Customized Workshops

PSBA, through its various programs, strives to provide the school leadership team with the tools they need to meet the responsibilities of school governance and leadership.

One of the most effective board development opportunities offered by PSBA is the on-site customized workshop. It allows your "Team of 10" to help design the programs that best meet your board's needs. You determine the time, the place and the topic, and PSBA will provide an experienced facilitator to help you design a program or workshop that meets the needs of your board-superintendent team.

On-site customized workshops are also available for your staff. If your professional education plan designates PSBA as a locally approved provider under Act 48, we can help design and deliver customized workshops for on-site delivery that will count towards the 180-hour/five-year recertification requirement for your entire professional staff.
Popular topics include:

  • Board Self-Assessment
  • Conducting Superintendent Evaluations
  • Dealing with Conflict
  • Enhancing School Governance
  • Goal Setting
  • Labor-Employee Relations
  • No Child Left Behind
  • Operating Successfully As A Team of Ten
  • Parliamentary Procedure
  • Policy, Regulation, Procedure . . . What's the Difference?
  • Teambuilding
  • The Key Work of School Boards
  • Understanding PSSA Results
  • Unlawful Harassment
  • Unlocking the Solutions to Ethical Dilemmas

Other topics dealing with school governance, management and legal issues, as well as school funding and standardized tests also can be customized to meet your needs.
