Schools of Excellence in Technology

PSBA, through its various programs, strives to provide the school leadership team with the tools they need to meet the responsibilities of school governance and leadership.

Nominate your district as a School of Excellence in Technology

PSBA invites you to enter its 2010 Schools of Excellence in Technology contest.  As schools are faced with challenges related to preparing students for the workplace of the future, we all need to work together to ensure that we are taking steps to help our young people be successful and contributing members of our local and larger communities.

If you believe that your school district measures up, PSBA would like to know.  The association currently is accepting nominations from districts in all areas of the state that can show their use of technology:

  • Is in alignment with the district’s educational goals.
  • Is supported at the district level.
  • Has shown evidence of improved student achievement.
  • Demonstrates long-term commitment by the school board and community as reflected through moral and financial support.
  • Has a positive impact on instructional practices, administrative operations, increased parental involvement and/or community support.

Selected districts:

  • Showcase their efforts at separate PSBA-sponsored events for visiting board members and school district administrators.
  • Are featured in PSBA publications throughout 2010.
  • Receive two complimentary registrations for one day at the PASA-PSBA School Leadership Conference in October.
  • Are acknowledged during the opening session at the School Leadership Conference.
  • Receive complimentary booth space at the 2010 School Leadership Conference Excellence in Education Fair to showcase district efforts.

How to nominate your district

If you would like your district to be considered for this award, mail or fax a letter telling PSBA why you should be considered as a 2010 recipient.  Outline your district’s technology efforts and be sure to detail how they are in alignment with the above-listed selection criteria for 2010.  The deadline is April 23.  Send your nomination now!
