Distinguished Board, Master Board Member
If a school entity has a need, chances are that PSBA has a service, expert or program to meet that need.
Be Recognized:
Distinguished School Board or Master School Board Member Accreditation
The ultimate goal of public education is to provide opportunities for learning, growth and achievement for all students. Effective school governance is essential for attaining this goal as well as promoting the community’s trust in public education and ensuring responsible stewardship of resources. In fact, how well schools and students achieve is inextricably linked to how well schools are governed.
PSBA will recognize school boards and individual board members who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in attaining the goals of effective governance and meeting the needs of students for the 21st century through educational excellence and equity of all students.

Copies of the applications are available below. The Distinguished School Board and Master School Board Member applications for 2012 are based on the six PSBA Standards for Effective School Governance and the PSBA Code of Conduct for Members of Pennsylvania School Boards.
It is very important that the application is completed in full compliance with the requirements and with utmost accuracy. Each application will be carefully reviewed and researched, including contacts with references and others familiar with your board service in order to ensure that only deserving applicants are given the accreditation.
Completed applications must be returned to PSBA by June 30, 2012.
A panel of PSBA past presidents and Master School Board Members will review the anonymous applications to evaluate compliance with the requirements for accreditation. All school boards and individuals who apply will be notified of their status by Aug. 15. The accreditations will be presented publicly at the annual PASA-PSBA School Leadership Conference in October. Each accredited board and accredited individual board members also will be recognized at a local public board meeting. In addition, a press release explaining the award and acknowledging the recipients will be distributed to the media by PSBA.
