Based on 487 responding school districts (97% of the 500 Pennsylvania public school districts) the average daily substitute per diem pay rate is $79. The most frequent pay rate (mode) is $70 per day and the median pay rate is $75 per day. The minimum reported rate is $60 per day and the maximum is $110.
