Legislative Advocacy Leave-Behinds
When new legislation passes, PSBA is seen as the leader in analyzing it and helping members make sense of it.
In any successful grassroots advocacy campaign, advocates need to be clear on their “asks” and provide legislators with a hard copy of the background on the issues discussed in face-to-face meetings. Legislative leave behinds should be comprehensive, but brief (one page), summaries of the issues at hand, rationale and the requests. |
| To help with your advocacy efforts leading up to budget negotiations, PSBA has prepared three leave-behinds for use in your meetings with your legislators. As those school board members and superintendents who attended the interactive advocacy training session at the 2008 Legislative Advocacy Conference will recognize, the three “asks” are: |
