Issues & Advocacy
When new legislation passes, PSBA is seen as the leader in analyzing it and helping members make sense of it.
As with many associations, one of the reasons PSBA was formed was for school boards across Pennsylvania to speak with a united voice as state educational policy is being made. PSBA makes sure our members’ voices are heard on all the critical issues. We speak on their behalf before local, state and federal officials, as well as administrative agencies and the courts. PSBA routinely monitors dozens of pieces of legislation that affect school districts. We update members on the happenings of state government and explain the complexities often involved with legislation. To help you understand the complex issues facing public education today, the Web site offers issue-focused resources including articles, newsletters, reports and surveys.
