The Pennsylvania School Boards Association is a nonprofit statewide association of public school boards, pledged to the highest ideals of local lay leadership for the public schools of the commonwealth.
Region 12: Thomas A. Zimmerman
Entering his ninth year on the Williamsport Area school board (Lycoming Co.), Tom is active in numerous committees, such as Alternative Education, Athletic Advisory, Employment Steering, and Drug and Alcohol Testing and Oversight. He was a delegate to the 2005 PSBA Legislative Policy Council. Last year, Tom served on PSBA's Summer Workshop Committee; he also made presentations at the association's annual fall conference and the PASCD/PSBA Joint Summer Institute. A decorated retired captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Tom served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He is employed as an associate professor in the psychology department at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, and he earned degrees from Williamsport Area Community College, Lycoming College and Bucknell University.
